Late Iron Age and Viking Demark

Seren was recently at Aarhus University, Denmark for the start up meeting of Project MILESTONE, a Carlsberg Foundation-funded research project. MILESTONE (https://projects.au.dk/milestone) is looking at changes over the crucial late Iron Age-Viking (cAD 600-1100) transition from the famous Lindholm Høje cemetery and settlement. The site – with its iconic boat burials – is a touchstone for the study of the Danish early Middle Ages, including the introduction of Christianity.
